We would like to personally welcome you all to our family site.

            FROM the humble beginnings of two people, Moises Franco deGuzman and Lupe Abrogar Obsines, this THE DEGUZMAN FAMILY WEB SITE was born. 

While working in the building construction dept. of a military base in Cagayan de Oro City in Northern Mindanao, a southern island of the Philippines, Moises attended services at the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), where he met Lupe during Sunday services, they being members of the church choir.  They fell in love and were married in the same church.

            When Dad and Mom went back to Luzon island in the Philippines, he met a Baptist missionary, the Rev. Bill Tisdale of the Southern Baptist Convention and was discipled by the man, until he accepted the Lord, and later surrendered, to be a full-time minister. 

He then, together with Mom and two of us, me and George, went to Baguio City at the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary to study and be more effective in the service of the ministry. Kaye later came along to join us while we were in Baguio. Then John came when Dad was a pastor at First Baptist Church in Cabanatuan City

            After finishing his studies, we came down to Tarlac where Dad continued serving the Lord, together with Rev. Tisdale, a Texan Tagalog-accent American missionary.  Dad was used by God in establishing different churches, even constructing the physical structures of the churches, having the knowledge of making building plans, since he was an architect by trade. 

Dr. Moises F. DeGuzman has already gone to be with the Lord, while pastoring a Filipino church in Lancaster, CA in 1996. Mom followed Dad to be with the Lord, when she went back to the Philippines a year after in 1997.  Although our names Paul, George and John, almost match the names of the popular singers The Beatles, my Dad and Mom were never a fan of the famous band.

Paul, who is Pastor of the Philippine International Baptist Church in Moore, Oklahoma, is married to Ofelia Limjoco and have three children, Paula Faye, William Edward, & Christian Paul.  George, who is the present Pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Cupang, Balanga, Bataan, Philippines, is married to Josie Santos, and have three children, Alea Krizia, Laslie Anne, & Joshua Miguel.  Kaye is married to Romy Capuli, the Pastor of Fil-Am Community Church in Virginia, and had a son Ryan who the Lord had taken home when he was only two years old.  John, who is a Civil Engr. based in Malaysia, is married to Marissa Arosa and they have three children, Timothy Moses, Nathan, & Edrie Josh.
